Proposal: Hail Discordia!

In Rule 26-Farming, replace

Once per week, the Emperor may alter these values, although never below zero, nor more than three away from their previous values.

with

Once per week, the Emperor may alter these values using any random decision-making tool of their choice, such that each price no more than three lead from the previous price is equally likely to be chosen.

Expired by Kevan, Sunday the 27th, under Rule 7.
Proposal: Hungry sheep are still angry sheep.

[Add to Rule 26-Farming]

If a farmer's sheep ever excedes the farmer's corn, the sheep will go on a rampage, eating all of the farmer's corn and causing damages to his farm equal to ten lead per sheep in excess of corn supply. The sheep will then run off in search of more food, reducing the farmer's sheep count to zero.

[I feel like a moron.]

Expired by Kevan, Sunday the 27th, under Rule 7.

Proposal: Taxes

Create a new rule: Taxation.

The Emperor may levy taxes on his subjects. Taxes are effective from the time they appear in the sidebar, and may be updated no more than once a week by the Emperor.

The following taxes are permitted, but not required.

  • Income tax: The Emperor may take a percentage of any Lead his Subjects gain through agricultural pursuits.
  • Property tax: The Emperor may place a tax on farmland or livestock (indicated by Corn and Sheep.) This tax is set in a percentage amount, and the Emperor may claim it no more that once per week.
  • Tariff: The Emperor may take a percentage of any Lead, Corn, or Sheep that pass between his Subjects. (When taking Corn or Sheep, the Emperor receives the current Lead value.)

Any taxes dealing with Sheep or Corn use the current market value, and are rounded up to the nearest unit.

[we're going medieval here, and it would be fairly unrealistic without taxes. this can be balanced out by the revolution rule. i dare not over-tax my subjects, or i may face a revolution.]

Enacted by Kevan, Monday the 21st, 5 Lead to Geran, 5 Lead to Kevan.

    [Add to Rule 26-Farming]

If a farmer's sheep ever excedes the farmer's corn, the sheep will go on a rampage, eating all of the farmer's corn and causing damages to his farm equal to ten gold per sheep in excess of corn supply. The sheep will then run off in search of more food, reducing the farmer's sheep count to zero.

Vetoed by the Emperor, failed by Squirrel, -2 and 2 lead to Squirrel

    Nea wins the Lottery

Congradulations to Nea, winner of this week's lottery! There were five tickets in circulation.
    Proposal: Belated Redecoration [trivial]

Add the newly created Imperial Seal to the Blognomic page header.

[i didn't have time to make it until recently, and while my veto could be added at any point (could you shrink it, kevan, or should i do it and send it again?) the period to add the seal to the page has most definitely passed.]

Enacted by Kevan, Tuesday the 15th, 2 Lead to Geran, 2 Lead to Kevan.
    Proposal: Reverse Alchemy II

Throughout the GameState, change the word "Gold" to "Lead."

[tried this last round, but the empress didn't approve because her highness was fond of shiny things. as my empire appears to be regressing to more pastoral roots, gold seems less appropriate.]

Enacted by Kevan, Friday the 18th, 5 Gold to Geran, 5 Gold to Kevan. But Gold doesn't exist any more, so (under the 'banana' clause in the glossary) they don't get any.

And eh, I realise now that this rule doesn't say anything about player's Gold reserves being converted to Lead. I'll assume that they are, and wait to see if anyone issues a CfJ...
