Proposal : Rank and File

Enact a new rule, "Ranks":-

Each Crew Member has a Rank, which (as a result of some temporary life-support-blip amnesia) defaults to Ensign - all Ranks other than Ensign are referred to as Officers. If an Officer's Rank is unassigned, then the Computer may consult its data banks and assign that Rank to any Ensign. The Computer always has the rank of "Computer".

The Ranks are, in descending order:-

• Captain.
  
• First Officer.
  
• Computer.
  
• Science Officer.
  
• Medical Officer.
  
• Engineering Officer.
  
• Navigation Officer.
  
• Mess Officer.
  
• Ensign.
  
• Ship's Mascot.
