Call for Judgement: I probably shouldn't be healed, and I wasn't

In Rule 15 - Aliens, we have a paragraph that reads:
If a use of med-kits in this way would raise a Crew Member's Health from a number below 100 to a number above 100, that Crew Member's Health is instead set to 100. If the use of med-kits would raise the Health of a Crew Member with Health already above 100, that Crew Member's Health is not affected by the med-kits. In either case, the way the 40 collective Health is divided does not change.

This makes no provision for crew members with exactly 100 Health, just those with more or less. (For the record, at the time of the last attack, I was the only one with exactly 100 Health.)

I propose that we change the phrase "Health already above 100" to "Health already equal to or above 100". I also propose that we don't bother going back and changing the results of the last attack, as it would take too much effort.

Vote "For" if you want to change the wording of the rule and not worry about fixing what happened.

Idling

The last time Truman Capote voted was on 5.28 at 3:12 pm GMT. He's idle; Quorum drops to 6.

Proposal : Bad Medicine

At the current rate of attacks, assuming a perfect distribution and with an average of two Crew Members per Location, each of us will lose 50 Health once every 12 days (6 attacks). That seems like a lot until you realize that during those 6 attacks, each Crew Member will gain an average of 120 Health from 6 med-kit uses. For any given person to die would require them getting hit twice in a row; thanks to the "one Location is immune" rule, that's less than a 4% chance for any of us.

Since the purpose of this phase of the game IS to kill us all off...

Change the second paragraph of Rule 15 - Aliens to read:

Emergency med-kits are available at each Location, but supplies are limited. During an alien attack, crew members at one random location can hear the carnage and in fear open up the med-kits. The Crew Member resolving the alien attack must post the GNDT comment "Med-Kits: DICE" and compare the resulting number to the list of Locations in Rule 14. If that Location is the same Location where the aliens are currently attacking, the resolving Crew Member must continue posting "Med-Kits: DICE" until the resulting number does not match the Location of the current alien attack.

At the Location indicated by the Med-Kits roll, Crew Members collectively gain 30 Health (rounded up to the nearest integer), divided equally among the Crew Members at that Location. For example, if there are 4 Crew Members in the Caves and 2 on the Bridge, and neither of those Locations is attacked, and the resolving Crew Member rolls a 1 for Med-Kit use, all Crew Members at the Bridge gain 8 Health.

Alien Attack: Screams in the Dark

It looked like such a good hiding place--remote, twisty, dark enough to escape notice. Until the things with claws showed up, and turned on their infrared eyes.

Royce and Ornithopter suffer grievously, splitting the 100 damage for 50 each. At the sounds of their pain, the other Crew Members break out the med-kits and get a-bandagin'. Health gains are as follows:

Bridge: Axiallus 14, Truman Capote 14, Brendan 0
Galley: Aaron 5, Damanor 0
Engine Room: ChinDoGu 3, Inauspicious 20
Drilling Rig: Josh 40
Cargo Hold: Shade 20, Iron 20

Octave inactive

I regret having to go idle just now, but circumstances compel it. Will someone please make the change on the roster for me?

Thanks. I'll be back as soon as I can.

Proposal: That's not fair!

Delete the sentence "New Crew Members have a Health of 100." from "Health".

Create a rule "Temporary Rule" that reads:

New Crew Members' Health is set to the median Health of existing crew members (rounded up). Crew Members returning from being idle will have their Health set to whichever of their previous Health and the median Health of existing Crew Members (rounded up) is lower.

At the end of the Second Dynasty of Cayvie this rule shall be deleted and the sentence "New Crew Members have a Health of 100." will be added to "Health" immediately folowing the first sentence.

Proposal: Delicious Spore Sandwitches

Add to Rule 12 (Foraging):
Every 48 hours, all Crew Members who have at least one spore gain a spore. If, at any time, a Crew Member has 10 or more spores, their Health is reset to 0

Add to Rule 15 (Aliens):
If a Crew Member uses a med-kit, their number of spores will not increase during the next 48-hour period.

Proposal : The Music Is Getting Faster

In Rule 15 - Aliens, change
If the aliens haven't attacked for more than four days

to
If the aliens haven't attacked for more than 48 hours

and add the following after the second paragraph:
If a use of med-kits in this way would raise a Crew Member's Health from a number below 100 to a number above 100, that Crew Member's Health is instead set to 100. If the use of med-kits would raise the Health of a Crew Member with Health already above 100, that Crew Member's Health is not affected by the med-kits. In either case, the way the 40 collective Health is divided does not change.

Alien Attack: Blood for Oil

They hungered... hungered for that special taste of Josh.

Or maybe it was the special taste of crude oil. Who knows?

The Aliens have attacked the Drilling Rig, chewing up one of our dear Crew Members pretty badly in the process.

Proposal : Stuck in the muck [Trivial]

in the rule "Aliens" Replace

any Crew Member may resolve

with

any Crew Member (who has not changed locations in the last 8 hours) may resolve

Proposal: Three's a Crowd

Let's try this again, shall we?

In Rule 15, replace
All Crew in the targetted Location lose 50 Health
to
The Crew in the targetted location collectivly lose 100 Health, equally divided between all targetted Crew (rounded up to the nearest integer),

Also, append to the end of Rule 15:
Emergency med-kits are available at each location, but supplies are limited. During an alien attack, crew members at every location can hear the carnage and in fear open up the med-kits. At each location that is not attacked, Crew Members collectivly gain 40 Health (rounded up to the nearest integer), divided equally among the Crew Members at each location (eg if there are 4 Crew Members in the Caves and 2 on the Bridge, and neither of those loactions is attacked, the Crew Members in the Caves each gain 10 Health, and the Crew Members on the Bridge each gain 20 Health).

FOR Passed 7 to 0 by Brendan at 2:53 pm GMT on 6.2.2004. +10 to Royce, +2 to Brendan. Note that this proposal passed after the first alien attack; medpacks are unavailable (and Josh lives) until the next one.

And She's Gone

Camping. For the entire week. If you can see a bonfire from space - that's probably where I am. See y'all later.

Proposal: There's Safety in Numbers (trivial)

In Rule 15, replace
All Crew in the targetted Location lose 50 Health
to
The Crew in the targetted location collectivly lose 100 Health, equally divided between all targetted Crew

AGAINST Self-killed; failed by Brendan at 2:30 pm GMT on 6.2.2004. -3 to Royce, +1 to Brendan.

Proposal : Moving Targets [Trivial]

In Rule 15, replace "The number rolled should be looked up on the list of Locations in the previous Rule - all Crew in that Location lose 50 Health, and the resolving Crew Member should post a blog entry detailing the attack." with:-

The number rolled should be looked up on the list of Locations in the previous Rule - if the most recent movement involved a Crew Member moving from that Location to another Location, the latter Location is targetted instead. All Crew in the targetted Location lose 50 Health, and the resolving Crew Member should post a blog entry detailing the attack.

FOR Timed out; passed 6 to 2 by Brendan at 2:25 pm GMT on 6.2.2004. +1 to Brendan, -5 to nonvoters Iron, Octave, Axiallus and Truman Capote.

Proposal: Because I still have space for half a proposal (trivial)

Add "!!! : This Crew Member is the Nomic King." to the list of titles in rule 2.

Add "!!!" after Kevan's name in the sidebar.

AGAINST Self-killed; failed by Brendan at 2:15 pm GMT on 6.2.2004. -3 to Ornithopter, +1 to Brendan.

Proposal: Just in case anyone lives that long (trivial)

Add the following to "Aliens":

"Any Crew Memeber who has gone foraging in the 24 hours preceding an attack is moved to the attacked location before damage is dealt out."

It might be a good idea to fix the location list in the ruleset as well.

AGAINST Self-killed; failed by Brendan at 2:14 pm GMT on 6.2.2004. -3 to Ornithopter, +1 to Brendan.

Proposal: Last Man Standing (trivial)

Add the followng paragraph to "Death":

If all but one of the Crew are Dead, the remaining Crew Member may declare victory. If all of the Crew are Dead, the last Crew Member to die may declare victory. (If the last remaining Crew all died at the same time, then any of them may declare victory.)

If this passes, the Health I would gain from it goes to Kevan, since all I did was copy-paste this from "Proposal: Don't Get Up".
