Task: Cough, Cough

The drilling had started out so well, almost without a hitch. The crew were having no troubles filling their personal tanks with crude oil from a richly flowing spout. Then, the watchful eye of Shade noticed something a bit strange in the rigging. As he peered down the crack that their drills had made in the surface, he noticed a strange yellow mist slowly beginning to form within it.

Quickly, he went to Science Officer CzarOfCanada, whose best guess as to the makeup of this fog was sulfuric vapors, perhaps coming from within rock cracked by the digging. They didn't look problematic now, but he knew that, if they got much stronger, it would be hazardous to approach the oil well at all.

The question was what to do about it?
