Proposal : Eating Our Own Dog Food

I've been meaning to do this for a while. Apologies if it goes long. Essentially, it reorganizes Stuff and imposes a limit on the total amount of Stuff a Department can possess.

Add the following TLA to the end of Rule 15 - TLAs:

TOS. TTC Office Solution.

Create a new GNDT column, "Outlay."

Replace the text of Rule 14 - Office Equipment with the following:

The TTC Conglomerate is in the business of providing Office Solutions. In order to mainline efficient user-focus practices, the District Manager has decided that TTC Teamspersons will test these Office Solutions internally.

Teamspersons may possess TOSs; his or her collection of TOSs is tracked under the Stuff column in the GNDT, and the word "Stuff" may be used synonymously with "collection of TOSs." A list of TOSs is to be found at the end of this Rule.

Each Department has a Budget equal to its Efficiency multiplied by 10. Each TOS has a specific Cost. The total Costs of all TOSs possessed by all members of each Department are tracked in the Outlay column of the GNDT next to the name of that Department's Head, and "Outlay" may be used synonymously with "total costs of all TOSs possessed by all members of a given Department."

The Outlay column for all non-Head Teamspersons is always "-". Any Teamsperson may claim a TOS at any time by adding its Cost to the Outlay of his or her Department, and adding its name to his or her Stuff column, both in the GNDT. A Teamsperson may not claim any TOS if claiming that TOS would cause his or her Department's Outlay to exceed its Budget (or if his or her Department's Outlay is already greater than its Budget).

If a Department's Outlay ever exceeds its Budget for reasons other than illegal claims (for example, if its Efficiency is reduced, bringing its Budget below its current Outlay), any Teamsperson may remove TOSs from any member of that Department until the Department's Outlay is not greater than its Budget. Removed TOSs leave play entirely.

Any Teamsperson may remove any TOS from his or her Stuff at any time. No Teamsperson may ever possess more than one of a specific TOS. No Teamsperson may have any Stuff unless he or she belongs to a Department (or unless otherwise stated in the descriptive text of a particular TOS).

The format of TOSs listed in this Rule is as follows:

• TOS Name. Cost: (Cost)
  Effects of this TOS on the Gamestate, or restrictions specific to this TOS.

Herein follows the list of TOSs:

• Chair. Cost: 1
  No special effects.


• Desk. Cost: 2
  No special effects.


• PC. Cost: 4
  No Teamsperson may claim a PC without the express permission of a member of the Admin Department, as recorded in a GNDT comment.


• Window. Cost: 0
  Only one Teamsperson in a Department may possess a Window at any given time. No Teamsperson in a Department may claim a Window if another Teamsperson in the same Department already possesses a Window.


• Big Chair. Cost: 3
  Only the Teamsperson with the highest Dignity in a given Department may claim or possess a Big Chair. If two Teamspersons in a Department both have the highest Dignity, no Teamsperson in that Department may claim or possess a Big Chair.


• Clutter. Cost: 0
  A Teamsperson may only claim Clutter if he or she sacrifices 20 Dignity. Once a Teamsperson possesses Clutter, he or she may continue to possess Clutter even if he or she has no Department. If a Teamsperson with Clutter is ever the Lackey during a re-org, his or her Dignity is effectively doubled (for the purposes of that re-org) due to sheer weight of plastic.


• TWT. Cost: 0
  If any Teamsperson possesses the TWT, no other Teamsperson may possess it. At any time on a Friday, the District Manager may remove the TWT from a Teamsperson's Stuff (if that Teamsperson has the TWT) and lower that Teamsperson's Dignity by 50. At any time on a Friday, the District Manager may add the TWT to any Teamsperson's Stuff (if no other Teamsperson possesses the TWT) and raise that Teamsperson's Dignity by 50.
